Anvils are used on the inside of a coiled pot to provide interior resistance when whacked smooth by a paddle on the outside.  They can also be used as a mold to make slab bowls or domes or to make concave dome impressions in clay. Loonie anvils are finely finished hardwood caps with a threaded handle connection on the underside. The set includes 3", 4" 5" and 6" diameter caps and one screw-in hardwood handle.
